Two complementary levels: a controlled lexical reference and more free-form rephrasings
1 Main translation: It is strictly constrained by the validated lexicons.
2 Translation variants (“Show other proposals”): These offer freer rephrasings of the entire text.
Lexical variants for a new translation (“Synonyms”) A targeted substitution allows you to observe precisely the effect of a synonym in its context — Choose a synonym — The system does not regenerate all possible combinations.
It replaces only one lexical element at a time to keep the comparison readable. The rest of the sentence remains unchanged.
Judeo-Spanish ⇄ English Translator
Based on Joseph Nehama’s dictionary, the translator relies primarily on the Judeo-Spanish lexicon *Al Reverso* from the Muestros Dezaparesidos association, as well as other secondary sources.
Generally, for a given word, the first translation comes from the *Nehama*.
This evolving tool may still produce errors. Anyone can suggest corrections or additions. One of our experts will be responsible for reviewing the suggestion.
